Ornamental and Edible Lotus Project
Ornamental lotus will arrive this Spring and in a joint venture with Auburn University, Piedmont Aquaculture will coordinate an experimental planting of edible lotus plants in a dedicated area.
The intent of which is to explore the commercial possibilities to grow lotus in Alabama for distribution and human consumption.
Edible and ornamental lotus project well underway. We are just waiting for the weather to cooperate to transfer from our holding raceway to be planted into the lotus ponds.
